Patrick Maher is diligently working on a new novel titled Memories Of Gaslight that he hopes to complete sometime in 2009 and release in 2010. The setting of the story is split between East Grand Rapids, Michigan and Bangkok, Thailand. The main character of the book, Peter, lives an isolated and lonely life in Thailand where he is trapped in a slowly deteriorating existence from which he cannot escape. In an attempt to find a sense of purpose and inner-calm, he recalls his childhood and teenage years of life in East Grand Rapids. The memories of the brightly lit streets of Gaslight Village and his recollection and characterization of countless friendships help give him hope in a time of desperation.
